Acer Helios 300 - The Cheapest Gaming Laptop with 144Hz Screen

Acer has recently launched a new predator helios 300 to the market. The main changes of this laptop from the previous version is in the cpu, screen and thermal design.The main attraction of this laptop is the 144Hz screen.There are gaming laptops which have 144Hz screen, but they cost mostly above $1400 and this thing cost only about $1200.The screen is so fast, bright and color accurate.Almost every other gaming laptops at this price point comes with 60Hz screen.It comers with an intel 8th generation i7-8750H 6-core processor.

Performance

The performance of this laptop is really good.It runs in an i7 8750H and GTX 1060 which provides better performance.You should be able to play most of the games at maximum graphics quality.They have improved the thermal performance in this laptop.The previous version also had a good thermal performance and this laptop is much more better than that.It comes with a 256GB SSD.There is an extra slot for adding one more SSD or HDD if you need more space.

Acer has also launched a special edition of the new helios 300.It comes with white and gold color combinations. Apart from that there are no other changes.Internal parts are all the same.If you like gold or white you can go for this one.

Display

This is the main attraction of this laptop.This laptop has a 144Hz refresh rate screen, and the cost is low compared to other 144Hz screen laptops.You get a stunning experience with movies and games.It is very fast and color accurate.Acer did a good job by bringing a 144Hz screen at this price point.

Battery

The battery life is'nt that much great.You can get around 4-5 hours of battery life.If you travels long , definitely want to bring a charger with you.The thing is you can't expect more battery life on gaming laptops.

          The Speakers are not so good.Almost every laptops comes with decent speakers now.But this one is not a better one.The keyboard has a red backlit on it.The fan noise is low.You can control the fan through the PredatorSense.
